SCI Research in the News - CBC's The National

With the recent news coverage of Humboldt Broncos’ crash survivor Ryan Straschnitzki’s treatments abroad, the conversation about epidural stimulation has entered the mainstream media.

The SCI community has been aware of the benefits of neuromodulation for some time, and we are working through the established research channels to make this treatment available, and recommended for appropriate use.

This year, we are proud to be a part of a clinical trial set to begin here in Toronto to research epidural stimulation further – and see where the results of this important work leads us.

It is an exciting time in spinal cord injury research, as move into the next decade with a renewed focus on the treatments that will lead us to a cure.
